A self-roll up electric hose mechanism is presented, designed specifically for reefer containers, formed by:
• A drum where the electric hose is housed, equipped with a torsion system to keep the cable taut at all times. By way of example, a torsion spring has been used. For the electrical transmission between the fixed part and the mobile part, a system of brushes is used. In the example, based on slip rings.
• A linear guiding mechanism to ensure the correct winding of the cable in the drum and avoid excessive mechanical stress.The system is compact, with all the elements supplied in a drawer that is easy to install in commercial refrigerated containers, which also isolates it from the outside.
• At the front of the drawer there is a receiver to house the connection plug, in certain position and orientation.
• Cable guiding system inside the drawer, from the embouchure to the drum. By way of example, rollers have been used.
• Light indicators, both of electrical voltage and electrical intensity.
